The Ordinary Hair Care Review

Ordinary hair care is a skincare brand that has exploded onto the scene in recent years, completely disrupting the beauty market. Their products are effective, priced affordably, and made with a condensed list of chemicals that are specifically targeted. Did you know that The Ordinary also sells items for your hair, in addition to the skincare products they offer?

Newly introduced by The Ordinary are a shampoo, conditioner, and moisturising serum designed specifically for the scalp. For the past few weeks, I’ve been using them every other day, and I’ve been using their other ordinary hair care product, The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density, on and off for more than a year.

As a point of reference, my hair is long and straight, and despite the fact that it is straight, it is dry, and it has lost its elasticity. My ordinary hair care products never seem to get enough moisture or protection from frizz when I use shampoo and conditioner from the drugstore, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from The Ordinary’s collection of hair care products when I tried them.

The Ordinary Sulphate 4% Cleanser for Body and Hair

The Ordinary has released a new fragrance-free shampoo called The Ordinary Sulphate 4% Cleanser for Body and Hair. This shampoo, which can also be used as a body wash, can be applied to the hair, and it does not contain any sulphates. This extremely gentle cleanser contains SLES-2, a mild sulphate that is designed to be gentle on the skin and not contribute to the fading of hair colour in any way.

According to The Ordinary hair care products, the chemical nature of SLES-2 makes it possible for the ingredient to be incorporated in the cleanser at a lower concentration, hence reducing the likelihood that it would cause irritation.

The basic recipe also includes tocopherol, which is a pure form of vitamin E and acts as a natural antioxidant that defends against the damaging effects of UV rays.

The viscosity of the cleanser is similar to that of a thin, slippery gel. I discovered that the shampoo had very little foaming action, and the bubbles that it formed were quite little and creamy.

I am used to having fragrance and a more powerful lather accompany most shampoos, thus I found that this product did not live up to my expectations as a shampoo. The fact that the cleanser may also be used as a very delicate body wash is something that appeals to me about it.

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density was the product that kicked everything off. This is not a new product from The Ordinary; in fact, it was their very first offering in the haircare category when it was released in 2018. This hair serum was developed to produce hair that is fuller, more densely packed, and in better overall health. It utilises technologies that are shown to be effective, and much like the other products from The Ordinary, it does not contain any filler components.

Final Thoughts on The Ordinary Hair Care Products

In general, I am satisfied with the quality of The Ordinary hair care products for the maintenance of your hair, especially considering how affordable they are. The shampoo is a cost-effective multi-tasker, and the hydrating serum is just what a dry scalp needs to look and feel its best.

Even though I’ve been using the Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density, I still haven’t seen the results I was hoping for overnight. But I’m seeing great results! Although it could take several months of use before I notice a difference in my hair development, the hair serum from The Ordinary definitely seems to be helping my hair grow faster.
